Title: Director of Nursing / Facility Manager
Location: Taroom, Queensland
Position Type: Permanent full time
Salary: $157,018 - $168,211 per annum (plus superannuation and leave loading benefits)
The Position
We are currently seeking experienced candidates for a permanent full-time Director of Nursing / Facility Manager opportunity in Taroom, Queensland. This is a unique leadership role for a senior nurse who is passionate about rural and remote healthcare and wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of patients, staff, and the local community.
As the Director of Nursing / Facility Manager, the successful candidate will provide both strategic and operational leadership across the facility, fostering a culture of safe, high-quality care while supporting and developing multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence service delivery, strengthen workforce capability and build meaningful relationships within a close-knit community. The Location
Taroom is a rural and remote Queensland community where healthcare leaders can have the opportunity to see the direct impact of their work.
Key Skills
- Experience and capability in providing professional and clinical leadership across the multi-disciplinary team to achieve high performance within contemporary service delivery models incorporating relevant legislative standards, quality improvement, research and professional development strategies.
- Experience in the application of key financial principles and effective resource management practices in complex health service environments.
- Ability to use clinical information and other relevant information technology systems to support decision making, achieve effective business processes and facilitate quality improvement strategies.
- Capability to support a positive workplace culture by employing highly effective interpersonal skills of communication, consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management in the multidisciplinary team environment.
- High level knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and quality improvement frameworks.
- Awareness of the principles and processes of change management and can apply a range of strategies to successfully negotiate organisational change.
- A demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others, identifying strategy and experiences that evidence this.
- Post Graduate qualifications in either Nursing, Health Administration or Management (desirable).
