Registered Nurse – Sarina Hospital, QLD
📅 Start Date: 21 July 2025  📅 End Date: 31 August 2025
📍 Location: Sarina Hospital (Mackay Hospital and Health Service)
🕒 Hours: As per rotating 8-hour shift roster (including on-call) – Max 80 hours per fortnight. Overtime applies thereafter.

About the Role:
Sarina Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a short-term contract supporting acute and sub-acute care in a rural setting. You will work across a diverse inpatient unit and emergency department, delivering high-quality care to a wide range of patient groups including rehabilitation, palliative, detox and more.

This is an ideal opportunity for a rural and remote nurse who enjoys the variety of practice and team-based care in a close-knit, community-oriented setting.

About Sarina Hospital:
Sarina Hospital has a 16-bed inpatient ward, outpatient services and an Emergency Department. A new hospital is currently under construction (due for completion in 2024) and will offer an upgraded 19-bed ward, expanded ED, and purpose-built infusion suite.

Mandatory Requirements:
✔ Experience in rural nursing and emergency care
✔ Triage experience
✔ Valid ALS, Resus, and Triage certification
✔ Current BLS, ETEK, manual handling, infection control, aggression management, and mandatory reporting competencies
✔ Familiarity with medication management and Qld Poisons Regulations (QPHS)

Desirable Skills:
➕ Proficiency in ieMR, FirstNet, PowerChart, and HBCIS
➕ Prior experience with Queensland Health, Mackay HHS, or other remote Australian facilities

Note:
If you are not ieMR-trained, you must travel to Mackay for training prior to your start. A car is essential, as accommodation may be based in Mackay.

Additional Requirements:
✅ Willingness to complete online induction and any additional required training
✅ Able to work flexible shifts as per roster, including on-call duties
