The Position

Our client is currently looking for a Nurse Educator to join their fantastic and supportive team.

As the Nurse Educator, you play a critical role in:

  • Leading the coordination, delivery and facilitation of education and competency programs and manage the department orientation program for new employees
  • Working with the hospital senior education services team in the coordination and delivery of the hospital advanced life support program following the current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, escalation of care protocols and associated education, resuscitation trolley integrity and education for all staff hospital wide
  • Working with Interventional Suite Manager and Theatre and education team to develop the education plan for the department
  • Coordinating and providing hands on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation and orientation to staff, graduate nurses & students
  • Assessing and demonstrating clinical procedures, orientate new employees and developing/updating educational resources
  • Providing expert clinical education and leadership, expert advice, guidance and support to all staff of the department
  • Promoting a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge
  • Coordinating staff compliance to annual mandatory training and completion of eLearning components.

 

The Location

Located in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney

 

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Certificate IV workplace training and Assessment (TAFE) (or working towards)
  • Relevant clinical or education post graduate qualifications in area of clinical practice (or equivalent)
  • Post Graduate - Certificate or higher Minimum of 4 years in area of clinical practice
  • Advanced clinical competence and proven experience in clinical supervision
  • Proven ability and experience in identifying learning needs
  • Highly Effective presentation skills
  • Advanced life support certification
  • Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Experience in the private healthcare system
